MitoGen is led by Professor Jus St. John who is a geneticist and reproductive biologist. He is head of the Mitochondrial Genetics Group at the Hudson Institute of Medical Research and a Professor at Monash University in Clayton, Victoria.
Jus St. John is the inventor of two assisted reproductive technologies that are patented and he continues to develop new approaches to assisted reproduction.
He has undertaken both contract and academic research and has published over 100 scientific publications and is frequently invited to speak at national and international meetings.
He has a significant knowledge of Australian cattle and pig genetics and the suitability of breeds from each of these species to their environments.
